About me

Design begins
with understanding

I'm Omar, an independent designer with over 10 years of experience across digital products, brands and systems. Over the years I've learned that most design problems aren't visual problems. They're decision problems.

My work begins by understanding people's ambitions, what drives their decisions and what businesses are truly trying to achieve. From there, I shape products, brands and systems able to align both sides.

The interface is simply where those decisions become visible.

How I think

What guides my every
decision

Before designing, we start from context.

Understanding the product, the market, the people and the goals lets us tackle the right problem before even looking for a solution.

Every decision has to have a reason.

Making the choices explicit lets us discuss them, share them and keep building on a common direction.

Constraints are part of the problem.

Technology, budget, timelines, regulation and roadmap change what is possible. When they change, we redefine the project priorities together.

Design has to work outside Figma too.

A solution has to be understandable for the people using it, concrete for the people building it and solid enough to evolve with the product.

Beyond the work

Football taught me that a result does not exist without a system. Videogames , that behavior comes from the rules and the possibilities around it. Collecting , that rarity attracts attention, but context is what determines its value. Different things, but they taught me the same one: before you can understand a result, you have to understand what produced it.
